Trauma and Attachment Lens

Learn how trauma and attachment can be addressed through ABA

Attachment is its own class of behavior and a newly recognized source of human motivation. Early life experiences and parental attachment have profound impacts on development. What are adverse childhood experiences and how do they impact us? Timothy Folley explores Attachment Theory and how your clients may be affected.

Timothy Folley

BCBA

Tim was born in NH, grew up in MA, met his wife in VT, and they're raising their 3 boys in ME. He earned his Masters in Ed Psych from the University of Southern Maine in 2014. Tim worked mostly with children who were diagnosed with Autism but presented more like Trauma and Attachment Disorders. In 2017 he was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of childhood trauma. Tim had the opportunity to work through his PTSD symptoms from a Behavior Analytic perspective. There were LOTS of questions about how the process worked. In 2019 he moved into working with the Brain Injury population and realized that this Trauma and Attachment stuff was very relevant in Brain Injury. Tim looks forward to sharing his experiences with other Behavior Analysts in an effort to inform their practices with a different lens.

Fabulous Course!

This course was great! Easily understood. Examples were clear and helpful as they brought the lessons together cohesively. What I was able to take from the lessons was the kind of insights I feel I need.
