As a fully trained BCBA, there’s so much that you’ve mastered:

  • Putting together individual behavior plans

  • Working one-on-one with each client

  • Keeping up with the latest research and methodology

  • Meeting with other professionals who are treating your client

But there’s one piece that just doesn’t seem to be falling into place.

You’ve learned so much and have experience dealing with the special needs children who are your clients. You feel confident in your abilities to bring about improvement and make progress with them.

But what about Mom and Dad?

Does your stomach twist in knots when you think about parent training sessions?

Do you feel unprepared and unsure of how to guide and relate to the parents of your client?

Would you love to receive guidance and hear advice regarding common issues that come up such as:

  • How do I come across as professional and competent while also showing compassion and understanding?

  • How do I inspire trust to ensure that Mom and Dad feel comfortable collaborating with me to help their child?

  • How can I empower parents to feel like they’re the authority in their household and take charge of the situation at home while so many others are involved in their child’s care?

  • What kind of practical solutions can I give to parents for behavior problems at home so all the work I’ve done with their child doesn’t go down the drain when I’m not around?

These common concerns and many others that BCBAs have when working with parents, are addressed in Turning Parents into Partners.
