This is a great topic of discussion. I believe we often overlook the necessity of planning and preparing for natural disasters and emergency situations, especially as it relates to individuals with disabilities. This training definitely brings light to how important it is for us as practitioners to help our families with this as it can literally save lives.

0-2 minutes:  Kelly introduces Feda Almaliti’s sisters – Maysoon Salah and Lubnah Salah. 

2 minutes: Maysoon and Lubnah share the story that led to the founding of the September 26th Project, including the events that led to tragedy.  

8 minutes: Maysoon and Lubnah review the key safety points addressed by the September 26th Project including the critical need to prepare and customize emergency plan in advance.
